Moncton, Oakville, and Ottawa have been selected to participate in the Bloomberg Philanthropies City Data Alliance, a program aimed at helping cities leverage data and artificial intelligence to enhance services and policies.
The alliance, which includes 65 cities in 12 countries, will provide multi-year operational and technical coaching to help these cities assess needs, strengthen services, and codify policies using data and AI.
Ryan Sorrey, the director of information systems for the City of Moncton, expressed excitement about the opportunity to formalize the city’s data usage. He explained that the alliance will offer support, training sessions, and coaching to help streamline decision-making processes and maximize the potential of the information collected.
