The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) continued its series of engaging events and knowledge-based programs during the third and fourth days of the 33rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF). The aim was to provide participants with valuable insights into the ever-evolving landscape of knowledge, offering opportunities for engaging discussions and workshops to enhance their understanding.
One of the sessions held at the Knowledge Lounge focused on ‘Copyrights and Digital Solutions,’ where Mohammed Al Matrooshi discussed topics like content recreation processes and the role of collective management organizations. Another session titled ‘Read, Build, Enjoy: The Lego Cube Strategy for the Development of Reading, Understanding, Reading Assimilation, and Higher Thinking Skills’ was presented by Yasmin Saadeh. Additionally, ‘Al Matn Al Majhool’ was presented by Sayed Mahmoud in a dialogue with Dr. Zainab Al Qaysi. Author and novelist Waciny Laredj led a symposium on ‘The Literary Genius and the Reality of Arabic Literature,’ moderated by Hussein Darwish.
In the ‘KnowTalks’ initiative, a discussion on ‘Oceanpreneurs: Exploring Opportunities in the Blue Economy’ was held, with Marina Antonopoulou shedding light on initiatives for environmental conservation. The MBRF’s Digital Knowledge Hub hosted a discussion on ‘Effective Reading Strategies’ with Dr. Khaled Abdel Fattah. The Dubai International Writing Program conducted a seminar on novel writing and story crafting, while the Publishing and Distribution Department organized a session on ‘Similarities and Analogies in Grammar by Al-Suyuti.’
On the fourth day, sessions like ‘Coffee and Book’ and ‘Reader and Knowledge Scene’ focused on promoting a culture of reading and introducing new publications. Discussions on ‘Financial Awareness in the Digital Age’ and ‘Green Investment Growth’ emphasized sustainability and environmental conservation efforts. The exhibition also featured sessions by the ‘Bil Arabi’ initiative, discussing prospects for Arabic academic publications and the Arabic Narrative Encyclopaedia.
