ML Infrastructure: The Conduit to Company’s AI Success, Says Google Leader

Google’s machine learning (ML) infrastructure has played an essential role in the company’s recent success in implementing generative AI in its products, according to Nadav Eiron, who built and leads the 1,200 member Core ML group, developed to serve as a center of gravity in applying ML to Google products. The Core ML group has focused on enabling innovations to become actual products, from the point where researchers have a great idea to the point that a billion people’s lives have been changed by that idea. The team works with Google DeepMind to help them think about how ideas can influence products, supporting them with tools, services, technology that can be incorporated into data scientists’ work. It also partners with the product development teams, representing the common good of all products, and helping them understand research.
