Microsoft has launched a new feature that allows firms to share their private data with its Azure OpenAI Service, which can improve the results when querying the AI chatbot ChatGPT. Despite privacy concerns about ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Andy Beatman, senior product marketing manager for Azure AI, said the data hand-over feature is a highly requested customer capability. The feature works by Azure fetching the relevant internal data of the firm in order to best complete a worker’s request. Beatman noted that the new functionality means companies no longer need to train or fine-tune their own AI models, as ChatGPT can provide tailored answers without customization. The feature has a public preview and can assist with software development, indexing, and human resources procedures.
