Microsoft recently unveiled its latest innovation in the world of Artificial Intelligence during its Build 2024 event. The tech giant introduced Copilot+ PCs, which it claims are the fastest and most powerful AI computers ever created.
These new AI PCs are a combination of cutting-edge software and hardware, with leading laptop manufacturers such as Dell, Lenovo, Samsung, HP, Acer, and Asus all on board to provide the new Copilot Plus PCs. Microsoft is also bringing its latest Surface models to the forefront of this new technology.
One of the standout features of these new AI PCs is the Recall capability, which uses AI to create a searchable photographic memory of everything the user has done and viewed on their computer.
Yusuf Mehdi, the Microsoft executive in charge of Windows, touted the new laptops as being capable of all-day battery life and being 58 percent faster than a MacBook Air with an M3 CPU. These PCs are equipped to process over 40 trillion operations per second with an ARM processor from Qualcomm.
Microsoft is positioning these laptops as the start of a new era for Windows laptops, with plans to introduce GPT-4o technology from ChatGPT developer OpenAI to Copilot soon.
With expectations of selling 50 million Copilot Plus PCs in the next year, Microsoft is set to launch these new computers on June 18 at a starting price of $1,000. The new PCs will have the ability to process AI tasks on the device itself, a feature that Apple is reportedly looking to incorporate into the upcoming iPhone 16.
As Microsoft continues to see a surge in its stock price, the company is optimistic about the future of Copilot Plus PCs and the impact they will have on the market.
