Microsoft Translator Expands to Include 4 New Indian Languages, Enhancing Education & Empowering Nation
Microsoft India has recently announced the expansion of its Microsoft Translator platform by adding four additional languages, namely Bhojpuri, Bodo, Dogri, and Kashmiri. With this expansion, the total number of supported Indian languages has now reached 20, bringing the company closer to its goal of accommodating all 22 official Indian languages.
The Microsoft Translator feature can be accessed through various platforms, including the Microsoft Translator app, Edge browser, Office 365, Bing Translator, and the Azure AI Translator API. Notable companies like Jio Haptik and Koo are already utilizing the Azure AI Translator API in their operations. This update is poised to impact approximately 61 million individuals across different regions of India and neighboring countries.
What sets Microsoft Translator apart is its utilization of Deep Neural Networks for language translation, allowing the platform to handle complex Indian languages while considering their linguistic nuances with utmost sensitivity.
Microsoft India believes that this expansion holds immense promise for the nation. It will enhance education and literacy, improve communication and governance, and create economic opportunities.
