Microsoft to Introduce Private ChatGPT for Secure and Isolated Business Data

Date:

Microsoft has announced plans to launch a private version of its popular AI-powered ChatGPT tool that aims to address customer concerns about compromising data security. By running dedicated cloud servers, Microsoft will provide its customers with an isolated environment where the data on these dedicated servers remain detached from the main ChatGPT system. This extra layer of privacy can cost up to 10 times more than what customers pay for utilizing the standard ChatGPT.

OpenAI, a San Francisco based artificial intelligence lab, will also be introducing a new privacy-focused business subscription in partnership with Microsoft. The subscription helps organizations to utilize Morgan Stanley’s AI-powered chatbot service and prevent data of their customers from being exploited in the training of artificial intelligence models. Through its multi-billion dollar investment into OpenAI, Microsoft is authorized to resell the products of OpenAI, abiding by its terms.

Microsoft’s private AI service is set to be a game changer for companies that are heavily involved in handling confidential and sensitive data. A clear example of this is Samsung, who put a ban on the usage of generational chatbots in the workplace and devices used for work, following some of its employees uploading company source code. Microsoft has already been inquiring businesses regarding the upcoming product, offered under its Azure service, which provides a secure platform for companies to manage their data.

Microsoft is planning to launch the private AI service for businesses later this quarter. The tool will promise heightened security for companies, hoping to protect the sensitive data of their customers.
