Microsoft Launches AI-Powered Copilot for Sales & Service, Boosting Efficiency and Sales Insights

Date:

Microsoft has unveiled two new services under its Copilot brand, aimed at revolutionizing the sales sector. With an increasing number of sellers supporting more customers, the need for enhanced productivity tools has become paramount. The new offerings, Microsoft Copilot for Sales and Microsoft Copilot for Service, build upon the existing capabilities of Microsoft 365 Copilot and provide tailored insights and actions for sales professionals.

While Microsoft has faced scrutiny for its previous efforts to maintain a closed ecosystem, recent antitrust cases have prompted a change in approach. The company now emphasizes interoperability and aims to integrate its new Copilot products with existing contact center and CRM systems, including popular platforms like Salesforce and ServiceNow.

Microsoft Copilot for Sales enhances core apps such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Word by leveraging specific data to provide insights and recommendations. Users can draft sales meeting briefs, update CRM records directly from Outlook, view real-time sales insights during Teams calls, generate content like sales pitches, and even summarize content. Early adopters have reported time savings of 30-60 minutes per week thanks to AI-powered email summaries.

Offering similar features, Copilot for Service pulls in data from multiple sources, including public websites, SharePoint, and offline locations. This allows it to effectively handle customer relations situations. Key features include an email summary tool and content generation.

Both Copilot services are now generally available and come at a cost of $50 per user per month. However, existing Microsoft 365 Copilot users can take advantage of a significant discount, bringing the price down to $20 per user per month.

With these new Copilot offerings, Microsoft continues its push to empower workers across different sectors with intelligent tools. By streamlining workflows and reducing administrative burdens, these services have the potential to significantly enhance productivity and efficiency for sales and service professionals.
