Microsoft GPT-4 Demonstrates Human-Like Reasoning Skills

Microsoft recently released a study article claiming that its new GPT-4 model exhibits signs of human-like reasoning. OpenAI’s most recent version of ChatGPT, a natural language processing system, has come under the spotlight and demonstrated an ability to reason like humans.

To provide more accessibility to their conversational AI technology, OpenAI announced the launch of ChatGPT app for Apple iOS users. This gives users the opportunity to engage in natural and dynamic conversations with an AI assistant in the comfort of their own home, user’s can also take advantage of Whisper, OpenAI’s open-source speech-recognition system for voice input.

However, the fears about the capabilities of artificial intelligence was brought to the fore again when Tesla founder, Elon Musk, warned shareholders to expect a challenging year ahead due to global economy and high-interest rates. This was joined by the news that Google plans to start deleting accounts that have been inactive for two years.

Sébastien Bubeck, lead author on the Microsoft paper about artificial general intelligence (AGI), confirmed how GPT-4 exhibits complex behaviours. When tasked with the challenge of stacking items in a stable manner, the model provided a lengthy conclusion that accounted for the eggs cracking, something only a human could understand.
