Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has unveiled the company’s new virtual-reality headset, the Oculus Quest 3 – now officially known as the Meta Quest 3. While it offers similar experiences to its predecessor, the Oculus Quest 2, the Quest 3 introduces mixed-reality capabilities. Full-color passthrough replaces the old black and white passthrough and will be more realistic and accessible than before. The device was expected to be shown at Meta Connect in October, but instead was announced earlier this week. The move could be to resurface VR during all the current Apple headset hype and jumpstart the interest in Meta’s product line, especially its metaverse.
