Meta has officially begun testing user-created AI chatbots on Instagram in the United States. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, announced this new launch on Thursday, stating that AI characters developed by users through Meta AI Studio will soon start appearing on the popular social media platform.
These AI chatbots will be clearly labeled as AI to ensure users are aware of their nature and origin. Zuckerberg mentioned that the initial beta version of these chatbots will first be introduced in messaging, with plans for ongoing improvements and a broader rollout in the near future.
Collaborating with popular creators like Wasted and Don Allen Stevenson III, Meta aims to explore the potential use cases for these AI avatars. Initially, Meta will test the feature with around 50 creators and a limited percentage of users, with the goal of expanding access and fully launching by August.
