German car manufacturer Mercedes is the latest company to integrate generative AI into its existing products. Mercedes is adding ChatGPT, an AI language model developed by Microsoft and OpenAI, to select vehicles in the US. The automaker will augment its existing MBUX Voice Assistant with ChatGPT, allowing drivers to converse with their cars through voice input. The move follows a trend across the tech industry of integrating AI into products and services in new ways. The trial of ChatGPT in Mercedes vehicles will last three months and the company will use the results to consider rolling out the technology to more regions and languages.
