Mayfield, a premier early-stage investor, recently declared the successful completion of two venture capital funds at a whopping $955 million. The $580 million Mayfield XVII, and the $375 million Mayfield Select III, were oversubscribed within just a couple of weeks of launch.
The funds will focus on Mayfield’s usual early-stage strategies, such as investing in companies at inception or early customer adoption stages (seed and series A rounds). Mayfield Spring, the Select III fund, will channel its resources towards follow-on investments in existing portfolio companies and new companies (predominantly series B rounds) outside of Mayfield’s investment portfolio.
Innovators in the fields of Human-Centric AI, the Data Economy, the Developer-First Era, the Renaissance of Semiconductors, Cybersecurity, DeepTech, Web3, and Human and Planetary Health still reap plenty of opportunities from this pool of capital. These investments are managed by the experienced team of Managing Partner Navin Chaddha, along with Rajeev Batra, Arvind Gupta, Tejas Maniar, Ursheet Parikh and Patrick Salyer.
Chaddha commented on such news and expressed gratitude towards those who showed continuous support for Mayfield’s operations. He further stated that the firm believes the current signs of economic recession to be an important opportunity for pioneers to look forward to and innovate. Mayfield has spoken true to its ‘people-first’ ideology, partnering with founders to build a secure platform for them to launch their ambitions.
