Designer and blogger Matt Webb have made remarkable progress of creating an AI clock by making use of the popular conversational artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT. This interactive E Ink clock comes with a unique feature of giving time information through poetic verse. With its simplistic design, the clock which works on the Raspberry Pi and Inky wHAT display is sure to capture the hearts of many.
The clock generates fresh content for every minute that passes. The concept of the program is to give a prompt related to the time to ChatGPT and it forms a two-line rhyme written in response. OpenAI (the company behind ChatGPT) recently released an API plugin that allows the chatbot to access knowledge from external sources.
Speaking of this endeavor, Webb says that ChatGPT is often the cheaper option for such projects but he is considering using GPT-3 for further developments. In response to the welcoming feedback from the people, he plans to convert the project into a kit for hobbyists and hackers to build the AI clock, and then consider a commercial product that can be easily installed and used with no hassles.
