Mark Cuban, known for his ventures in the business world and on television, is taking a serious stance on the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) education. The billionaire entrepreneur is offering free AI training to high school students across the country through the Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamps Initiative.
Cuban believes that AI is a crucial skill for the future, stating, There are two types of companies in the world right now — those that understand AI and those who don’t. To bridge this gap, Cuban is empowering young students to learn about AI and be part of the technological advancements shaping society.
The AI Bootcamps, which have been running since 2019, cover topics such as machine learning, natural language processing, and AI ethics. The program is designed to be accessible to all high school students, regardless of their coding or tech knowledge.
The upcoming bootcamps for 2024 will take place in over 18 cities and will span three Saturdays in November. Each camp will accommodate 20 to 25 students and will be led by volunteers from local businesses and corporations, including experts from companies like Walmart and McDonald’s.
Cuban’s initiative aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a workforce that is increasingly influenced by AI technology. By democratizing AI education, Cuban hopes to inspire young innovators to apply their newfound skills to create businesses and solve real-world problems.
With the growing importance of AI in various industries, Cuban’s AI Bootcamps serve as a stepping stone for students to embark on a journey of lifelong learning and innovation in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
