A man was apprehended following multiple stabbings at a movie theater and a McDonald’s restaurant in Massachusetts. In two separate incidents that may be related, six individuals, including four young girls, were attacked by the assailant, according to police in the area.
The first attack took place at the AMC Braintree 10 south of Boston, where the man entered a theater without making payment around 6 p.m. on Saturday. Targeting the girls aged between 9 and 17, the man launched a sudden and unprovoked assault before fleeing the scene. The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Law enforcement authorities managed to capture video footage of the man’s vehicle and license plate, which aided in tracking his movements. The vehicle was later spotted in Plymouth, where a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were discovered with stab wounds outside a McDonald’s restaurant. Both individuals were taken to hospitals for medical attention.
Subsequently, state police located the vehicle in Sandwich, approximately 20 miles away from the initial incident location in Braintree. Upon attempting to pull over the vehicle, a chase ensued and ended in a crash. The driver was subdued and currently receiving medical care at a local hospital. The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time, as investigations into the series of attacks continue.
Authorities are working diligently to uncover any potential motives behind the assaults and are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information that may assist in the ongoing investigation. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of community vigilance and support in ensuring public safety and security.
