Lenovo has unveiled new data management solutions designed to enhance enterprise AI capabilities and optimize data utilization. The company has launched the ThinkSystem DG Enterprise Storage Arrays and ThinkSystem DM3010H Enterprise Storage Arrays, which are all-flash arrays aiming to simplify AI workload enablement and maximize the value of data.
Lenovo also introduced the ThinkAgile SXM Microsoft Azure Stack servers, which offer a unified hybrid cloud option for streamlined data management. These servers facilitate the seamless integration of Azure services, enhancing efficiency and productivity in hybrid and multicloud environments.
As businesses face escalating challenges in scaling their operations to meet growing data, security, and sustainability demands, Lenovo’s new flash solutions provide an accelerated deployment of AI workloads. With enhanced security features across edge-to-cloud environments and advanced ransomware protection, these solutions promote workload consolidation and faster data-driven insights.
The new storage arrays are specifically designed to overcome data complexities and optimize storage, analysis, and management processes. By eliminating data silos and accelerating insights across hybrid multicloud environments, these arrays help businesses navigate the ever-increasing volume of data and unlock its true potential.
Stuart McRae, Executive Director and GM of Data Storage at Lenovo, emphasized the importance of delivering efficient and user-friendly solutions to enable AI workloads. The ThinkSystem DG Enterprise Storage Arrays, powered by advanced quad-level cell (QLC) memory technology, deliver exceptional flash performance for petabyte-scale datasets, making them ideal for AI workloads and large-dataset processing.
Compared to traditional HDD arrays, Lenovo claims that these all-flash arrays can deliver up to six times faster performance while reducing costs by up to 50%. With their ability to handle read-intensive enterprise AI workloads and large datasets, these arrays enable faster data processing and accelerate time to insights.
In addition to the storage arrays, Lenovo introduced the ThinkAgile SXM4600 and SXM6600 servers, which are integrated systems optimized for Microsoft Azure Stack Hub. These servers provide consistent Azure services on-premises, enabling businesses to meet various requirements such as data governance, latency, cost management, and integration with legacy technologies. The servers offer significant enhancements, including up to 183% improvement in transactional database performance and a consolidation ratio of up to three-to-one for Microsoft applications.
Lenovo’s comprehensive Unified Complete Software suite safeguards business data throughout its lifecycle and incorporates essential features to combat ransomware and protect against data breaches. These solutions ensure that business data remains secure with built-in ransomware protection, multi-tenant key management, and immutable file copies.
Moreover, Lenovo emphasizes the importance of corporate sustainability. The DG storage solutions are designed to improve efficiency, reduce power consumption, and optimize cooling, resulting in up to 25% power savings compared to hybrid arrays. By minimizing the need for rack space and cooling in data centers, these solutions contribute to a smaller carbon footprint.
To offer customers a cloud-like experience, Lenovo has launched TruScale Infinite Storage, a server and storage model based on consumption. This model allows customers to pay for the capacity they use on a monthly basis, offering dynamic non-disruptive scaling of performance and capacity, and eliminating concerns about infrastructure becoming obsolete.
Lenovo plans to include the Unified Complete software with DG Series and upcoming DM products in the coming year, simplifying data management and ensuring customers have access to essential features without additional costs.
With these new data management solutions, Lenovo aims to address the challenges businesses face in managing and leveraging large volumes of data. By simplifying AI workload enablement, enhancing security measures, and optimizing storage and management processes, Lenovo is empowering businesses to unlock the full potential of their data and drive innovation in an evolving digital landscape.
