Kerala to Host Country’s First International GenAI Conclave on July 11-12 in Kochi, Co-Hosted by IBM India

Date:

Kerala is gearing up to host the country’s first International GenAI Conclave in Kochi, scheduled for July 11-12. Co-hosted by IBM India, the event is expected to bring together around 1,000 delegates. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized the significance of this conclave for Kerala’s innovation landscape.

Generative AI, or GenAI, enables users to input various prompts to generate new content like text, images, and videos. The two-day conclave’s agenda includes keynote presentations, panel discussions, interactive sessions, product demos, and hackathons. While details about the speakers and dignitaries attending have not been disclosed yet, the event aims to showcase the transformative potential of generative AI across different industries and propel Kerala as a hub of GenAI in India.

The event is a step towards positioning Kerala as a global center for AI research and development. The conclave seeks to explore the transformative capabilities of AI, drive innovation in generative AI, address business and societal challenges, promote skill development, and enhance the talent pool and infrastructure for AI research and development.

Ahead of the conclave, tech talks were organized by Srinivasan Muthusamy, a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM India and an expert in Artificial Intelligence software, in the three major IT parks of Kerala – Thiruvananthapuram Technopark, Kochi Infopark, and Kozhikode Cyber Park. This initiative reflects India’s strong IT industry and vast data resources that can leverage AI technologies effectively.

Although AI technology is in its early stages, several countries have adopted AI-based utilities to enhance service delivery and reduce human intervention. However, concerns about potential job cuts persist as the technology continues to evolve. The conclave aims to address these challenges and harness the full potential of AI in India.
