JPMorgan Chase has advertised over 3,600 jobs related to artificial intelligence (AI) between February and April 2021, according to data from consultancy Evident reported by Bloomberg. The data revealed that roles related to AI accounted for 40% of hiring at more AI-enthusiastic banks. JPMorgan’s closest competitor, Citigroup, was said to have advertised about 2,100 AI-related roles in the same period. Other banks including Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas were cited in the report as advertising over 1,000 AI-related jobs. The report follows JPMorgan’s filing of a patent application for an AI software called IndexGPT.
