As one of the first demonstration parks for urban digital transformation in Shanghai, Shibei Park has been designated as a pilot area for implementing cutting-edge blockchain applications. It is collaborating with Shanghai Data Exchange and Lingang International Data Port to create a data factor market innovation system that can serve as a benchmark for international practices.
To further support the development of a trusted data economy, Shibei Park has joined hands with Ant Group, East China Normal University, and other renowned institutions to establish the Shanghai Trusted Data Economy Research Institute. Shanghai Antchain Industrial Development Center, located in the Blockchain Valley of Shibei, has welcomed 16 companies since its inception, with an additional 19 businesses receiving nurturing and services. Among them, eight companies are engaged in high technology. The center contributes to the creation of a Web 3.0 ecosystem focused on Jing’an, covering diverse application scenarios such as food traceability, gaming, and insurance verification.
Shanghai Magic Orange Network Technology Co., one of the first companies to join the center, has experienced significant growth thanks to the resources in Shibei Park and the technology support from Antchain. Chen Mintao, the founder of Shanghai Magic Orange Network Technology Co., mentioned that the park’s comprehensive ecosystem has allowed their company to evolve from a single product developer to a comprehensive service provider with more than 50 industrial scenarios served. They particularly highlight the application of blockchain in ensuring data safety for new-energy vehicles.
Blockchain Valley has successfully attracted 70 renowned companies from both domestic and international markets. It leads the way in exploring a new growth pattern that combines industrial clusters, applications, and technical innovation. Focusing on blockchain, cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence, Shibei Park aims to drive a new wave of digitization.
The Jing’an Science and Technology Commission plans to expedite the construction of major projects, including the big data industry base, the AI hybrid cloud computing power center, the Huawei Blockchain Ecosystem Innovation Center, and others. These projects aim to promote deeper integration between digital technology and the online economy.
In Jing’an District, Suhewan, a waterfront area along Suzhou Creek, is poised to become a burgeoning fintech center. The commercial zone along Nanjing Road W. will host more technology service industry headquarters, while the Daning area will focus on the development of emerging industries such as chip design, new materials research and development, and smart healthcare.
