With his whereabouts being unknown for months, Ma visited Yungu school in Hangzhou and spoke to the students about the advances in technology since his departure. Ma’s talk focused particularly on the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and chatbots and inspired many of the students with his enthusiasm for learning.

Alibaba, founded by Ma in the 1990s, is one of the largest e-commerce companies globally. After his public speech criticizing China’s regulators and financial systems, Jack Ma went on an overseas trip and resided in undisclosed locations. With its efficient logistics, Alibaba became the world’s biggest e-commerce platform. This overwhelming success now has a total value of more than $550 billion.
