Audi has unveiled its latest electric vision with the introduction of the 2025 Q6 E-Tron. This cutting-edge SUV showcases Audi’s Premium Platform Electric architecture, which is shared with the Porsche Macan EV and now features Audi badging for the first time. The innovative architecture operates on an 800-volt system and includes two electric motors positioned towards the rear for optimal power and vehicle weight distribution.
The Q6 E-Tron will be available in two trims at launch—the standard Q6 and the performance-focused SQ6. Both models come equipped with a 100-kWh (94.9-kWh net) battery pack, with Sportback trims and a rear-wheel-drive version set to be introduced later to enhance the range.
In North America, the Q6 E-Tron is expected to deliver a combined 422hp, representing a 40hp increase compared to the European model. The higher-performance SQ6 boasts an impressive 483hp, with both trims offering enhanced acceleration through launch control. Audi estimates that the Q6 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.0 seconds with launch control, while the SQ6 achieves this in an impressive 4.2 seconds.
When it comes to range, Audi estimates that the standard Q6 E-Tron will offer a range of 482km, with range estimates for the SQ6 pending. Both trims share the same battery, although the SQ6 is likely to provide slightly less range. Notably, the Q6 E-Tron features 800-volt charging capabilities, enabling it to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 21 minutes using a DC fast charger that can pull 270 kW.
The PPE architecture of the Q6 E-Tron has been meticulously engineered to optimize electric packaging while delivering robust driving dynamics. Notable features include control arms positioned in front of suspension arms for improved battery positioning and a fixed steering rack for enhanced control. Additionally, the Q6 boasts wider tires at the rear to optimize performance.
In addition to its impressive performance capabilities, the Q6 E-Tron is packed with cutting-edge technology. The SUV features the E3 (End-to-End Electronic) architecture powered by AI, enabling it to manage various Android-based systems and provide proactive suggestions based on learned behaviors. The Q6 also boasts digital screens, including an 11.9-inch driver display, a 10.9-inch passenger screen, and an optional augmented-reality heads-up display.
The Audi Q6 E-Tron represents a significant leap forward in the electric vehicle market, combining advanced technology, impressive performance, and a sleek design to offer an unparalleled driving experience. With its innovative architecture, high-performance capabilities, and state-of-the-art features, the Q6 E-Tron is poised to set a new standard for electric SUVs in the years to come.
