Informatica, a leading vendor of end-to-end data management solutions, recently released an AI tool called Claire GPT. This new generative AI technology simplifies data handling for enterprise users. It will be integrated with Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) and begin rolling out in the second half of the year. It will help experts such as engineers, analysts and scientists to reduce the amount of time spent on data management tasks by up to 80%.
Claire GPT utilizes a multi-LLM architecture in which public LLMs are used for non-sensitive queries like intent classification and fine-tuned Informatica-hosted LLMs are leveraged to generate data management artifacts. These artifacts include data discovery, data pipeline creation and editing, metadata exploration, data quality and relationships exploration, and data quality rule generation.
The launch of this AI tool occurred at Informatica’s annual conference in Las Vegas. This news comes as many industry vendors have begun to look at large language models (LLMs) as a way to make their products accessible to more users. With LLMs, it is possible to increase the productivity of data teams while maintaining governance and control.
In addition to Claire GPT, Informatica also debuted other Claire-driven data management capabilities at the conference. These include inferred data lineage, autogenerated classifications, multicolumn completeness analysis and automapping. They also announced IDMC for Environmental, Social and Governance, and “Cloud Data Integration for PowerCenter (CDI-PC)” which will help with the migration of on-premises PowerCenter assets to IDMC and could save up to 20 times in terms of cost.
Informatica is not the only company that leverages generative AI. Salesforce recently released SlackGPT, which combines Slack’s internal knowledge with LLMs, and New Relic has released Grok, an AI assistant for monitoring software performance issues.
To learn more about the potential benefits of generative AI, top executives in San Francisco are invited to join a conference on July 11-12. Here, they will hear more about how leaders are integrating and optimizing AI investments for success.
