Informatica acquires Privitar to boost data privacy efforts

Informatica, an enterprise data management solutions provider, has announced its intent to acquire Privitar, a London-based startup that helps companies embed privacy protection into their data efforts. The acquisition will bolster the privacy layer of Informatica’s tech stack, specifically its AI-powered Intelligent Data Management Cloud platform, which allows companies to democratize data use while adhering to regulations and ethical data principles. Privitar’s tools for building collaborative workflows and policy-based data privacy and access controls will be integrated into the platform, enabling best-in-class data governance and compliance. The deal is expected to close by Q3 2023, though no financial terms have been disclosed.
