Infoblox Introduces AI-Powered DNS Protection Service for Enhanced Security

Leading cybersecurity company, Infoblox, is revolutionizing its domain name system (DNS) protection portfolio by launching a new AI-based package. This innovative product, called SOC Insights, aims to bolster security measures for widely distributed, DNS-networked enterprise resources.

With SOC Insights, customers can now leverage DNS threat intelligence to proactively disrupt and analyze potential threats. Craig Sanderson, the Vice President of Security and Product Management at Infoblox, states that the main goal of this AI-driven system is to reduce response time by converting large amounts of security event, network, and DNS intelligence data into actionable insights.

AI SOC Insights works by collecting networking and security data from both Infoblox’s DNS dataset and external sources, and then utilizes artificial intelligence technology to correlate events, prioritize them, and provide detailed recommendations for resolution. This not only expedites threat detection and response but also alleviates the burden on overwhelmed security operations center (SOC) analysts.

Sanderson highlights the significance of DNS traffic analysis, explaining that DNS serves as a control plane for both enterprise networking and potential adversaries. However, DNS traffic is often overlooked by security teams and primarily handled by network personnel. The immense volume of DNS events and domain registrations makes it challenging to identify malicious activities effectively. The integration of AI into the system enables the extraction of the most critical data from the noise. In fact, one customer was able to condense 500,000 events into 24 actionable insights using AI SOC Insights.

Moreover, SOC Insights has additional capabilities, including the ability to identify configuration errors, detect high-risk activities, and highlight other behaviors that can help organizations strengthen their security posture and mitigate risks proactively.

The combination of AI-driven analytics and threat intelligence empowers organizations to detect and respond to potential threats more efficiently while relieving the strain on SOC analysts.

As the cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, solutions like Infoblox’s SOC Insights prove to be vital in combating sophisticated threats. By harnessing the power of AI, organizations can gain valuable insights and ensure a robust defense against adversaries operating in plain sight.
