The 15th Al Jazeera Forum recently concluded, focusing on the impact of influencers’ narratives in the ongoing conflict between Palestine and Israel. The second day of the forum delved into various sessions highlighting different aspects of the conflict and its repercussions on a global scale.
The first session, Post-Tufan Balances at the Regional Level: Powers, Axes, and Strategies, discussed how the Tufan Al-Aqsa conflict led to significant changes within the realm of resistance and the Palestinian national liberation movement, as well as its effects on the Israeli occupation.
The second session, titled Gaza Rearranges the Priorities of the International Agenda, emphasized how the Israeli war on Gaza has shifted the focus of the international community, overshadowing other global conflicts like the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and tensions with China.
In the third session, The Targeting of Journalists in the War on Gaza, the challenges faced by journalists in conveying the truth during the conflict were highlighted. Despite protection protocols, journalists were deliberately targeted by the Israeli war machine, resulting in casualties among media personnel.
The fourth session, Special Dialogue with Influencers on the Conflict of Narratives, featured discussions with social media influencers on their roles in shaping the narrative of the conflict. Influencers emphasized the importance of presenting the human side of the conflict to stop aggression on Gaza, while also addressing the misuse of AI technology to target Palestinian civilians.
Overall, the influencers stressed the significance of their impact in raising awareness about the Palestinian cause and countering false narratives propagated by the Israeli occupation. They pledged to collaborate and intensify efforts to spread accurate information through various platforms, aiming to educate the global audience and garner support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against injustice.
