OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT, has agreed to increase transparency and user rights after facing legal repercussions for collecting user data without permission. Italy’s privacy watchdog noted that OpenAI has taken steps to meet the expectations outlined in its April 11 order, such as providing additional information to European and non-European users, making changes to the user agreement, and recognizing user’s rights to exercise their rights. As such, the ban on ChatGPT has been lifted in Italy.
