Increase in Talent Demand for Artificial Intelligence in India Over Last Six Months

The demand for talent in the field of Artificial Intelligence has been on the rise in India over the past six months, according to a new report from foundit (formally Monster India & APAC). The jobs market is predicted to see a 22 per cent turnover over the next five years, with top emerging roles on AI, machine learning and data market. The IT sector leads the demand for AI jobs with 29%, followed closely by advertising, market research and PR at 17%, and retail at 11%.

Projects like ChatGPT have been identified as game changers in the technology world. While there are discussions of job losses in the face of the increasing use of AI, it is accepted that AI and automation are ushering in new roles, creating new markets and increasing employment opportunities. The most in-demand roles and skills according to the report include software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, python developers, marketing analytics consultants, AWS data architects, machine learning engineers, AI product managers, BI developers, and content curators/proofreaders.
