Amazon Prime Video is aiming to give its viewers an even more enjoyable experience with the introduction of its innovative accessibility feature, Dialogue Boost. Dialogue Boost offers users the ability to increase the volume of dialogue without raising the volume of other audio, effects, and background music. This feature is particularly useful for individuals who may otherwise need to rely on subtitles if they struggle to hear the dialogue during streaming TV shows or movies.
Raf Soltanovich, Vice President of Technology at Prime Video and Amazon Studios said in a statement, “At Prime Video, we are committed to building an inclusive, equitable, and enjoyable streaming experience for all our customers. By leveraging our technological capabilities to create industry-first innovations like Dialogue Boost, we are taking another step to create a more accessible streaming experience.”
Besides Amazon, other streaming platforms such as Roku also offer features similar to Dialogue Boost, such as its “speech clarity” feature. However, Amazon is the first global streaming service to offer this specific feature.
The Amazon Original lineup of TV shows and movies is constantly growing, as is the content that supports Dialogue Boost. The new feature is currently available on all Prime Video-supported devices. Furthermore, it will soon be available in specific Amazon Original programs globally. These programs include “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” and more.
