It can identify birds up to one kilometer away with over 99 percent accuracy. The system’s proprietary software and neural network technologies process image data to determine important factors such as 3D position, velocity, trajectory, and specific sensitive species of interest. All of this information is obtained within seconds of detection.
Since 2016, IdentiFlight systems have been successfully deployed in wind farms across four continents to detect potential threats to sensitive bird species. The technology is capable of curtailing specific turbines that pose a risk to these protected birds. Independent research has shown that using IdentiFlight reduces avian fatalities in wind farms by more than 85 percent.
