IBM has announced its plans to launch an AI Tuning Studio and additional AI models in Watsonx.ai, further expanding its capabilities in the artificial intelligence (AI) space. The company will also introduce FactSheets in Watsonx.governance as part of its commitment to transparency and responsible AI development.
As a part of this initiative, IBM will host Meta’s Llama 2-chat 70 billion parameter model in the Watsonx.ai studio, offering early access to select clients and partners. This collaboration builds upon IBM’s ongoing partnership with Meta, which focuses on open innovation for AI. IBM has previously worked with Meta on open source projects such as the PyTorch machine learning framework and the Presto query engine used in Watsonx.data.
By integrating Meta’s Llama 2 model into Watsonx.ai, IBM aims to enhance its library of both third-party and proprietary AI models. This move will provide Watsonx.ai users with access to the powerful Llama 2 model, enabling them to enrich their AI-driven applications.
In addition to Meta’s model, IBM is also set to introduce a range of supplementary software offerings. These upcoming additions include AI tuning studios, fact sheets, and various generative AI models.
The integration of Meta’s model aligns with IBM’s strategic focus on providing comprehensive support for Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, including question answering, content generation, summarization, and text classification.
Watsonx.ai users can already leverage AI models from IBM and the Hugging Face community, catering to diverse NLP needs. These pre-trained models empower AI builders to develop more effective and sophisticated applications.
With Watsonx, IBM offers its customers an AI development studio that provides access to IBM-curated and trained foundation models, open-source models, a data store for gathering and cleansing training and tuning data, and a toolkit for data and AI governance.
Meta’s advanced commercial iteration of its open-source AI language model, Llama 2, was recently made available through Microsoft’s Azure cloud services. This strategic move positions Llama 2 to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard in the emerging generative AI market.
IBM’s latest initiatives in AI demonstrate its ongoing commitment to driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge AI solutions to its clients. By expanding its offerings in Watsonx.ai and partnering with Meta, IBM continues to push the boundaries of AI development and provide its users with state-of-the-art technology.
As the AI landscape evolves, IBM aims to remain at the forefront, ensuring that its clients have access to the most advanced AI models and tools to meet their business needs. With these new additions, Watsonx.ai will further strengthen its position as a leading platform for AI-driven applications, empowering organizations to unlock the full potential of AI technologies.
