Title: How AI Boosts Creativity and Overcomes Writer’s Block for a Gen Z Content Creator
As a Gen Z content creator, I leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance my work and overcome writer’s block. These tools, like ChatGPT and chatbots, have become invaluable in brainstorming ideas, improving my outreach to brands, and elevating the quality of my content. In this article, I’ll share my experiences and insights on how AI has transformed my creative process.
From the moment ChatGPT was launched, I eagerly adopted it for my various roles as a student, intern at an entertainment company, and content creator. As an early adopter, I discovered the true potential of AI in amplifying my productivity and refining my final output.
Learning about ChatGPT through platforms like Reddit, TikTok, and LinkedIn, I gradually familiarized myself with its capabilities. As its popularity grew, I delved deeper by reading articles and experimenting with the tool. Today, I rely on AI every day to outsource certain tasks, although it doesn’t necessarily reduce the time required to complete them. Instead, the greatest benefit lies in the ability to enhance the quality of my work.
LinkedIn, my primary platform for sharing content related to Gen Z, college, and career growth, has witnessed the substantial impact of AI on my content creation and personal branding. With over 14,000 followers and recognition as a LinkedIn Top Voice, ChatGPT has played a pivotal role in content creation and building my online presence.
Among the tasks AI aids me with, research and brainstorming top the list. While measuring the correctness of answers generated by the chatbot during research can be subjective, I’ve discovered that the more specific and contextualized my prompts are, the more helpful and relevant the answers become. I meticulously craft my requests, often comprising two paragraphs brimming with information, without venturing into any confidential territory.
Additionally, AI has proven invaluable in improving my outreach and communication for brand partnerships. As a content creator, I’m responsible for crafting pitches and maintaining professional correspondence with potential brand collaborators. However, I’ve always struggled with formal business writing, including contract creation and using appropriate language. AI tools have empowered me to refine these skills and present myself as a consummate professional.
Although I don’t rely on AI to write my LinkedIn content, it serves as an exceptional idea generator. Writer’s block has become a rarity for me, as AI consistently offers ideas I may not have conceived otherwise, particularly for attention-grabbing headlines and hooks. Through an experiment, I discovered that an attention-grabbing hook generated by AI outperformed one I devised myself for the same post.
Before utilizing AI, my headlines were often straightforward and resembled email subject lines. However, during a recent post about summer internships for 2023, I employed generative AI to pose the headline as a question and an attention-grabbing statement, comparing the effectiveness of each approach. AI’s knack for utilizing keywords and buzzwords in content creation helps make my posts catchier, compensating for times when my own brain falls short in that regard.
Nevertheless, content generated by AI requires significant editing on my part. My unique voice, characterized by sassy and unfiltered Gen Z expressions, is what resonates with my audience. This is something that can’t be replicated by AI alone.
In conclusion, AI has become an essential tool in my creative journey as a Gen Z content creator. Its ability to aid in brainstorming, improving outreach, and generating attention-grabbing ideas has significantly enhanced the quality of my work. By combining the power of AI with my unfiltered voice and editing prowess, I’ve seen tremendous success in creating engaging content that captivates my audience.
