i-PRO Cameras with AI Analytics Safeguard Monet’s Masterpieces at Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum
Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum has partnered with i-PRO, a global leader in professional security solutions, to enhance visitor safety and protect priceless artworks during high-profile events. The Grimaldi Forum, located in Monaco, is a renowned venue for conferences, cultural events, and world-class art exhibitions. To ensure the security and preservation of artworks, over 100 i-PRO multi-sensor and Fisheye security cameras with advanced AI-based analytics have been installed.
The Grimaldi Forum hosted the prestigious Monet in Full Light exhibition in the summer of 2023, featuring nearly 100 masterpieces by Claude Monet. With the exhibition attracting 120,000 visitors in just two months, it was crucial to implement a robust security infrastructure. Philippe Martin, Director of Safety, Fire, and Risk Prevention at the Grimaldi Forum, turned to MES I2S Security, a Monaco-based system integrator, to install the i-PRO cameras.
The i-PRO multi-sensor cameras offer wide-area surveillance and exceptional imaging performance. They allow the security teams to monitor the activity across large rooms while still focusing on specific areas of interest. The cameras also have IR LED lighting, enabling monitoring day and night without blind spots. By choosing i-PRO’s multi-sensor cameras, the Grimaldi Forum was able to significantly reduce the number of cameras needed, resulting in cost savings.
To protect the valuable artworks, i-PRO implemented Scene Change Detection, an AI-based analytic application that alerts security teams to anomalies within the camera’s field of view. This technology helps identify unusual behavior or unauthorized proximity to the artworks, ensuring their safety. The cameras also utilize AI Video Motion Detection (VMD) to detect intruders or loitering individuals, minimizing false alarms triggered by changes in light or passing shadows.
Real-time monitoring is made possible through i-PRO’s Active Guard plug-in. It allows the security team to conduct instant searches during an incident or conduct deep forensic analysis after an event. The plug-in’s unique feature is the ability to identify specific attributes in watch lists and send real-time alarms when a match is detected. This enhances situational awareness and proactive security measures.
In addition to securing the artworks, the i-PRO fisheye cameras strategically positioned at entrances and major axes help manage occupancy and visitor flow. The advanced AI analytics in these cameras can detect congestion, monitor visitor traffic flow, and count the number of people in specific areas. Heat maps provide statistical insights into the traffic flow, allowing for better management of the exhibition space.
Philippe Martin expressed his satisfaction with the implemented technology and highlighted the importance of the collaboration with i-PRO and MES I2S. The successful deployment of i-PRO’s security systems not only ensured visitor safety during the Monet exhibition but also strengthened the Grimaldi Forum Monaco’s security posture for future events and expansion.
i-PRO, a global leader in advanced sensing technologies, continues to support professionals in the fields of surveillance, public safety, and industrial/medical imaging. With their commitment to creating a safer world, i-PRO’s solutions bring together innovation and protection.
