Human Mind is Unbeatable: No AI-Powered ChatGPT Can Outshine It Says Narayana Murthy

Date:

Recently, Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys made a comment that has taken the world by a storm. In a recent interview with CNBC, the 76-year-old billionaire stated that absolutely nothing can surpass the human mind, including the recent AI-powered chatbot, ChatGPT. This statement comes at a time when ChatGPT continues to impress with its capabilities such as providing advice, penning human-like comprehensive essays and answering any and all kinds of questions.

Murthy was quoted as saying that the “ChatGPT is an excellent addition to knowledge generation”. He firmly believes that the human mind is what differentiates one from the other and is the most powerful imaginative machine. To elaborate on his point, Murthy gave an example of how if he and an interviewer were to compete and one of them decided to use ChatGPT, they will still require to add their own thoughts, tweak the existing information as necessary and add their own unique perspective and intelligence. According to him, this way, the teacher would rate him higher than the competition. Moreover, this is the reason he does not stress about the rise of AI like ChatGPT, since lazy folks will get a C grade but smarter folks will get an A grade.

Murthy has personally interacted and used the ChatGPT and in an event organized by NASSCOM Technology and Leadership Forum 2023 he revealed that he was introduced to it by his son a few months ago. Furthermore, he believes that the AI program is an excellent base that should be further wielded with human creativity, not just to solve major problems, but also to bridge divides between sectors and resources like never before.

Narayana Murthy, the founder of Infosys, is credited as the father of IT from India according to Time Magazine. He was the company’s chief executive officer from 1981-2002 and in 2022 was deemed as the 654th richest person of the world according to Forbes. It is due to his vision, his brand of leadership and experience in the field of IT that India was able to form itself into a leading IT powerhouse.
