Half of McKinsey’s Employees Use Generative AI, Says Report

Global consulting firm McKinsey and Company is harnessing generative AI tools, with nearly half of its 30,000-strong workforce using ChatGPT and similar services, according to Ben Ellencweig, senior partner and global leader of QuantumBlack, the firm’s AI consultancy. Speaking during a media event at McKinsey’s New York Experience Studio, Ellencweig said guard-rails were in place for employees using the technology and that confidential information was not uploaded. McKinsey was testing all the major players, said Alex Singla, another senior partner and global leader of QuantumBlack. Singla recommended using a five-step framework for a safe, secure and smart approach to generative AI.
