Gujarat Launches AI Cluster to Drive Innovation in Financial Institutions

Gujarat’s government has recently signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with tech giants IBM, Microsoft, and NASSCOM to advance the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the state. These partnerships aim to establish key initiatives in the field of AI technology, crucial for propelling Gujarat towards becoming a hub for futuristic innovation.

IBM has collaborated with the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of Gujarat to create an AI Cluster at Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City, promoting collaboration and innovation among financial institutions. This move reflects the increasing emphasis on AI as a driving force for India’s development.

On the other hand, Microsoft has also joined forces with the state government to establish an Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence in GIFT City, focusing on technologies like machine learning and cognitive services. Similarly, NASSCOM has signed an MoU to enhance AI capabilities in Gujarat, further cementing the state’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies.

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for technological advancement, Chief Minister Patel highlighted the importance of nurturing a skilled AI workforce in Gujarat. Through initiatives like the Up Skilling Industry Ready Talent Program, the state aims to train thousands of students in deep technology courses over the next few years.

Leading tech companies like IBM, NVidia, AWS, TCS, and L&T Edutech have already pledged their support by providing courses under this program. State universities have also come on board to facilitate training in AI and deep technology, ensuring Gujarat remains at the forefront of industrial innovation.

With these strategic partnerships and initiatives, Gujarat is poised to emerge as a global leader in AI technology, offering a gateway to the future for businesses and institutions looking to harness the power of artificial intelligence for growth and development.
