Rumours were rife that Google was planning to launch its first foldable device,the Google Pixel Fold soon.Surging ahead of these speculations, the tech-giant is expected to launch the device earlier than expected at the annual Google I/O event which is planned for May10 in California. Furthermore, information about the device’s specifications, pricing and availability have already been leaked.
The latest leaks indicate that the device will be built with rounded edges and thick inner bezels and will measure 5.5 inches when folded, & 3.1 inches in width & 0.5 inches thick. Additionally, the inner display will be 7.6 inches and have an FHD+ OLED display coupled with 120hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Google’s propriety Tensor 2 chipset which is the same chipset as Pixel 7, with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It will also feature Android 13 OS and a 4,700 mAh battery. Moreover, the camera setup will boast of a triple camera setup at the rear with a 48MP primary lens and a 10.8MP telephoto and 10.8MP ultrawide lens while a 9.5MP outer camera and 8MP inner camera at the front.
Reportedly, the 12GB RAM + 256 GB variant is expected to launch between 1.47-1.57 Lacs and come in Obsidian and Chalk colour options. On purchase of the Pixel Fold, the tech giant is likely to offer its Pixel Watch for free to buyers who pre-order the phone. Google may officially launch the device on May 10 followed by a retail launch on June 27.
