Google has recently rolled out an update to its video calling service Meet, making it possible to mute video feeds of other participants in a meeting. With this update, now users can switch off the live video of other people in a Google Meet without notifying them. This can be helpful in scenarios where people want to focus their meeting view to just the presenter or hide participants with distracting video feeds while they chat. This feature is available to all Google Workspace customers, as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers, and can be activated by simply selecting ‘Audio only’ before joining a meeting.
In addition to the new feature, Google has also worked to customize the background image for its users. This allows admins to provide a set of images for their users that best suit their brand guidelines.
