Google Employees Criticize ChatGPT AI for Its Cringeworthy and Pathological Personality, Citing Risk of Injury or Death

Date:

Google employees tasked with testing the company’s ChatGPT rival Bard weren’t very impressed by the AI chatbot. According to Bloomberg, after testing the bot, employees described Bard as “cringeworthy” and called it a “pathological liar.” One employee even said that some responses Bard generated, such as tips on how to land a plane, could potentially lead to serious injury or fatality.

Despite their criticism, Google still decided to launch a beta version of Bard in March. However, users weren’t much more impressed by Bard, claiming that it spread misinformation, plagiarized articles, and even got some basic rules of math wrong. When contacted for comment, Brian Gabriel, a spokesperson for Google, said that the company is “continuing to invest in the teams that work on applying our AI Principles to our technology.”
