A tech startup’s chatbot, ChatGPT, has replaced a young woman’s role as a copywriter, sparking concern and anxiety over job security in many industries. Olivia Lipkin, a former writer in San Francisco, was terminated from her role in April with no explanation. It was found out that she was nicknamed ‘Olivia/ChatGPT’ within her workplace’s Slack group, leading her to believe that the AI tool had replaced her role.
Lipkin initially contemplated entering the field of content marketing; however, she soon found that the intense demands of the job left her little personal time for writing and left her mentally exhausted.
She made a life-changing decision and opted to leave the corporate world entirely, pursuing a career as a dog walker instead. In a conversation with The Washington Post, Lipkin expresses her desire to take a break from the office environment. Several individuals are now seeking the most cost-effective solution, and that solution usually comes in the form of a robot or AI tool.
