The Odisha government is taking significant steps to enhance the experience of devotees visiting the famous Srimandir in Puri. According to Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, plans are underway to offer free Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath to devotees as they seek blessings at the temple. While the exact date for the initiation of this service is yet to be confirmed, the gesture is sure to be welcomed by pilgrims and visitors alike.
In addition to the free Mahaprasad service, the government is also set to establish a Bhyakhyana Kendra, or Interpretation Centre, in Puri. This center will serve as a information hub for visitors, providing insights into the various rituals of the Srimandir and promoting the rich Jagannath Culture among devotees.
During the recent Ratha Seva Sammana-2024 program in Puri, Minister Harichandan highlighted ongoing discussions regarding these initiatives, with a blueprint expected to be developed soon. This move is aimed at enhancing devotees’ understanding of the traditions and practices associated with the temple.
Reports have also surfaced regarding the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for crowd control within the Puri Jagannath Temple premises. With the installation of 14 cameras both inside and outside the temple, AI technology will play a crucial role in maintaining order and ensuring the safety of all visitors. The advanced footfall counting feature will further aid in managing the flow of devotees during peak hours, guaranteeing a smooth and organized darshan experience.
By leveraging innovative technologies and implementing visitor-friendly initiatives, the Odisha government is working towards enhancing the overall spiritual journey for devotees at the revered Srimandir in Puri.
