He has also refuted allegations of receiving payment from the Russian government for spreading lies.
Media experts, including those at Clemson University’s Media Forensics Hub, view Dougan as just a small piece of a larger puzzle. Darren Linvill, co-director of the Hub, described him as a potentially unwitting accomplice due to his American background.
