Former Pikesville High School athletic director, Dahzon Darien, is at the center of a scandal involving accusations of framing the school’s principal with a racist and antisemitic recording created using artificial intelligence. An investigation by The Baltimore Banner has revealed shocking details about Darien, including the revelation that he lied about his background to secure the job.
Darien, who is currently facing charges including theft, stalking, disruption of school operations, and retaliation against a witness, allegedly fabricated a recording that targeted Principal Douglas Eiswert as retaliation for an investigation into possible mishandling of school funds. The recording featured Eiswert’s voice making derogatory remarks towards Black students and the Jewish community, which was widely circulated on social media.
Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough stated that Darien was arrested at the airport while attempting to board a flight to Houston, with a firearm in his possession. Darien is now on administrative leave as the investigation unfolds.
Further digging by Baltimore Banner reporters uncovered that Darien falsified information on multiple job applications, including claims about his work history, educational background, and qualifications. The investigation revealed 29 false claims on four different applications, indicating a pattern of deception.
Parents of Pikesville High School students expressed shock and concern over the scandal, questioning the hiring process that allowed someone like Darien to hold such a position within the school. Baltimore County Public Schools declined to offer additional comments on the matter.
In response to the allegations, Darien’s attorney issued a statement denying the accusations of providing false qualifications and indicated that Darien would address the AI recording allegations through the appropriate channels.
The unfolding scandal raises questions about the hiring practices within Baltimore County Public Schools and highlights the importance of thorough background checks and verification processes for all applicants. As the investigation continues, the community awaits further developments in this troubling case.
