Explore Google’s Innovative Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools

Date:

Google is upping its game with its new generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Part of the Google Workspace Suite, these new tools will first be available to Gmail and Google Docs users. With the introduction of generative AI, users will be able to create diverse text based on a prompt that appears in a blank screen and just hit a blue “create” button. This will produce a first draft, followed by additional brainstorming, editing and rewriting options.

The Alphabet-owned company will be rolling out the new features in phases over the next couple of months to trusted testers in the US, with English as the language of choice. Depending on the feedback, the tools will be made available to consumers, small businesses, enterprises and educational institutions in more countries and for more languages. Google also clarified that these services will be free of charge, unlike other programs of its kind.

Using generative AI, users can draft, reply, summarise, and prioritise their emails, as well as craft customised job descriptions, orders for goods made with a wholesale merchant, or even an invitations for a birthday party. Additionally, there are options to refine and even receive more suggestions, while the tone and style can easily be adjusted through the tools provided. Features like audio, images, videos and auto-generated formulas and summaries will also be made available.

The market for this technology is growing rapidly and it is expected to reach a whopping $188.62 billion by 2032. At the same time, the North American region dominates the market in total.

Google is keen to emphasize that these AI tools are no replacement for the ‘ingenuity, creativity, and smarts of real people’. Although the technology can be quite helpful in some cases, it is far from perfect and will require human intervention when it makes mistakes. To this end, Google will ensure that the user is in control of the technology and that it provides the necessary administrative controls so ITs can set the right policies in an organization.

It is important to note that Jean Voolich Wright, vice president for product at Google Workspace, will be leading this project for Google. She has been working with Google for over 20 years and has managed to introduce a number of successful products to the market.

With this move, Google is certainly ramping up its AI technologies, and with the help of Jean Voolich Wright, the new tools have a chance of being a great success. Whether this technology can replace human minds is yet to be seen, but it is expected to make life easier for users who are looking for an efficient way to craft quality content.
