Ecovacs has brought an exciting upgrade to its line of robot vacuums for the year 2023: the Deebot T9+, a midrange model with updated navigation, a new oscillating mop, and an unexpected air freshener. It costs $800, which is expensive but not unusual for an advanced robot vacuum.
For my review of the Deebot T9+, I tested the features based on my own household needs. I live with my 8-year-old, and with the introduction of a talking robot vacuum, it was certainly an adjustment. But the fresh scent produced by the air freshener made the Deebot T9+ a much friendlier addition to my home.
In terms of cleaning power, the T9+ certainly did the job. It’s a little over 4 inches tall and comes with a plastic plate to make it easier for the vacuum to roll back onto the charging ports at the end of a cleaning job. It mapped my 850-square-foot house accurately, and in 85 minutes, it had cleaned with 10 percent battery life left over.
The most notable feature of the T9+ is its new oscillating mop function. Unlike the reusable mopping pads found in previous Deebots, the T9+ uses disposable cleaning pads that are much easier to use and replace when necessary. To mop, attach the mopping attachment to the bottom bracket, fill the tank with water, and stick the disposable cleaning pad on with Velcro – it’s much simpler than manually washing cleaning pads.
Overall, the Ecovacs Deebot T9+ is an impressive robot vacuum and mop for its price. Its automated air freshening and disposable mopping pads make for a convenient and hassle-free cleaning experience, leaving your home smelling sweet and clean in no time. It’s truly a great pick for anyone looking to have the space and comfort of a robot vacuum at their disposal.
