Escape Scans APIs Dynamically to Find Security Flaws

Date:

French startup Escape has secured a €3.6m ($3.9m) funding round, shortly after completing Y Combinator’s winter 2023 cohort. Escape’s cybersecurity product targets APIs before they go live in public, using a custom algorithm with artificial intelligence to simulate attacks to identify security flaws. These dynamic tests are based on the application running, rather than source code. Starting with GraphQL APIs, which are considered easier to protect, the company is now moving on to REST API support. The focus is on larger clients in sensitive sectors including banks and financial services companies, and jobs could be worth tens of thousands of euros per year.
