Naturally, all these impressive features come with a price tag. The Tikee 3 Pro+ is on the higher end of the price spectrum for time-lapse cameras. The camera itself costs €1500 and comes with a softshell carry case. However, Enlaps also offers a kit which includes a hard case, a fixing mount kit, a 256GB microSD card, and other useful accessories for €2098. If you’re planning to set up the camera in more secluded areas, there’s also a larger solar panel available for €459.
While most time-lapse cameras produce video files directly, the Tikee 3 Pro+ takes a slightly different approach. It captures pairs of images from its two cameras, which you can later combine and edit using photo or video editing software. Alternatively, you can upload the images to the Enlaps website, where you can create, download, and share time-lapse videos using their my tikee account.
To access the full functionality of my tikee, Enlaps offers several subscription options at different price points. The most affordable option, Storytelling, is perfect if you only need to create time-lapse videos without the additional AI dashboard and backend features. It costs €59 per month or €420 per year.
In terms of design, the Tikee 3 Pro+ stands out with its square shape and cameras positioned on the two front corners. It also boasts a solar panel on top, which can be adjusted as needed. The camera is weatherproof and features waterproof covers for all its slots and connectors. Its dimensions are 8.2 x 7 x 2.7in / 210 x 180 x 70mm, and it weighs 3.68lbs / 1,664g, making it a compact and portable option. It also comes with a standard tripod thread and a rubber grip to prevent sliding.
Controlling the Tikee 3 Pro+ is done through the Tikee Remote smartphone and tablet app or via my tikee on the Enlaps website. Connecting to a Wi-Fi network or using a 4G SIM card enables you to preview images on your smartphone or tablet. Without a Wi-Fi connection, you can still save time-lapses to the microSD card and later upload them to your my tikee account.
One of the standout features of my tikee, available with the more expensive subscriptions, is the AI dashboard. This allows you to monitor various variables and analyze scenes easily. For instance, if you’re capturing a time-lapse of a construction site, you can monitor truck deliveries or even set the AI to detect people for safety compliance.
Equipped with two cameras offering a 149-degree field of view and a 16MP Sony Exmor R sensor, the Tikee 3 Pro+ produces panoramic images at 6K resolution. The image quality is excellent, and you have the option to capture still images in JPEG, DNG, or JPEG+DNG formats.
During testing, the Tikee 3 Pro+ performed admirably in different weather conditions and environments, delivering impressive time-lapses ranging from 30 minutes to several hours. The long-term scheduling functionality worked seamlessly and provided ease of use and reliability.
