Enjoy Dialogue-Clear Audio on Prime Video with Subtitles

Date:

Having trouble understanding what is said when watching movies and TV shows? You’re not alone. Dialogue on films and television shows has been getting harder to hear due to louder background music and sound effects. But now, Amazon Prime Video has completely changed the game with their Dialogue Boost feature.

Dialogue Boost is a new feature on Prime Video that aims to help viewers understand the dialogue in TV shows and movies more easily. The feature boosts the volume of spoken dialogue in a program relative to the other background sound, such as music and effects. This makes it easier for users to understand what is being said and enjoy the show better.

At launch, Dialogue Boost is available on about 100 Amazon Originals, including some of their most popular titles such as “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”, “The Big Sick”, “Beautiful Boy”, and “Harlem”. This feature is currently global, and it’s the first streaming service of its kind to offer this type of feature.

Dialogue Boost was first created with people who are hard of hearing in mind, but it can also help people who are having trouble understanding the dialogue to enjoy their viewing experience. To create the boosted audio, Prime Video first analyzes the original audio for each program, isolating speech patterns and enhancing them to make the dialogue clearer.

The boosted tracks are available on the playing videos’ subtitles and audio options widget. People can choose from options like “English Dialogue Boost: Medium”, “Dialogue Boost: High”, etc. according to their preferences. The feature is device-dependent, which means that it can be supported on any device that streams Prime Video.

By offering this innovative solution we are taking another step to create a more accessible streaming experience.”

Amazon Prime Video is a streaming service owned by Amazon, an American multinational technology company. Founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994, the company is based in Seattle, Washington and has since become the world’s largest internet-based retailer through the success of its e-commerce platform, AWS, Alexa, streaming services and other products and services.
