People are wowed by the capabilities of OpenAI’s chatbot, ChatGPT. This AI is being used by people across the globe and many have been experimenting with what they can do with it. Recently, a machine-learning engineer integrated ChatGPT Artificial Intelligence into Boston Dynamics’ robotic dog, named Spot. The results of the integration were fascinating; Spot was seen interacting with people and answering a wide range of queries.
Santiago Valdarrama, the AI expert, posted a video of the interaction on Twitter. In the video, Spot was seen responding to questions like how much battery is left, mission details and more. Spot first uses ChatGPT to analyse the query and then uses Google’s text-to-speech AI to vocalise the response.
The Twitter caption read, ”We integrated with our robots. We had a ton of fun building this.” Valdarrama further said that robots had to undergo complex configurations for everyday missions. This is where the integration of ChatGPT proved to be beyond useful. They were able to ask robots about past and future missions and get real-time answers based on their query. This, combined with the vocalized interface allowed them to explore their data.
The Internet users were intrigued by the video and wondered about the possibilities of AI. One user commented, ”Wild times we live in. Truly incredible”. Another said, ”People thinking AI isn’t the next Industrial Revolution are simply wrong.” A third said, ”Really cool.”
