ENCO Introduces ChatGPT-Based Products at NAB Show

Date:

ENCO Systems has introduced two products that use ChatGPT at the NAB Show and President Ken Frommert discussed how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming more popular in radio broadcast applications.

One of ENCO’s AI-driven applications is their automated captioning solution, enCaption for Radio. It uses AI and machine learning and creates speech data for live captioning of radio broadcasts and streams. This same data can be sent to their enTranslate cloud-based or on-premises solution for translation then distributes it to broadcasters in a way that can be adapted for web frame, iFrame or other closed captioning formats.

To enhance this technology, ENCO has introduced AITrack which integrates with the company’s DAD radio automation system to generate and insert voice tracks between songs. These include identifying the song and artist of the previous song, introducing the next song and artist, or delivering station IDs and news or weather updates. Also, ENCO-GPT can automatically create ad copy and summarize news stories, taking written news articles and turning them into a few key sentences.

Frommert recognized that with AI, there has been a quicker adoption and acceptance than with predecessors to the technology such as IP and the cloud. He believes this is because the technology provides more immediate benefits to broadcasters and easier to access for them.

ENCO Systems is a Canadian-based business that was founded in 1983. They offer broadcast automation and media management solutions to radio, television, podcasting and OTT organizations from a range of industries. They specialize in audio and video streaming, captioning, on-demand production and workflows, radio automation and more. Their products are utilized by prominent broadcasters around the world to drive their content creation, management and distribution operations.
